Buy-Back/Refund Policy

  1. Refunds of any type require the presentation of a Darton College Bookstore sales receipt.
  2. For REGULAR TERM classes, a 100 % refund of the purchase price of the book will be given during the first seven (7) days of classes following late registration/drop add day each semester.
    • Student MUST have proof of withdrawal from the class and proof of purchase/sales receipt in order to receive refund.
    • New books purchased must be in “like new” condition or the refund will be equal to the used book retail price.
  3. For ALL OTHER TERM classes, a 100 % refund for books will be processed through the first five (5) days of classes for that term.
    • Student MUST have proof of withdrawal from the class and proof of purchase/sales receipt in order to receive refund.
    • New books purchased must be in “like new” condition or the refund will be equal to the used book retail price.
  4. NO REFUNDS are permitted on OPTIONAL course books purchased, i.e. you purchase a book listed as optional on the course guide and after attending the class you decide you do not need the book and want a refund. Once you purchase an optional textbook, it is yours to keep!!
  5. No refunds on books returned because another source for the book became available, i.e., if you purchase a textbook, go home and find the book or have a friend decide to loan you the book, a refund will not be issued.
  6. All textbooks returned to the bookstore after the 100 % refund period will be treated as a “buy back” and monies refunded to the student will be in accordance to conditions itemized in section 7 of this document.
  7. “Buy-back” of books being used by Darton College will be at a rate of one-half of the purchase price of the book, i.e., when a used book is purchased then the buy-back price will be one-half of the used book price. Only books being used by Darton College the following semester or books for which shelf stock warrants, will be bought back from students by the Bookstore.
  8. No refunds are permitted on clothing, supplies, or miscellaneous purchases. Exchanges only may be made for incorrect sizing on clothing provided the apparel has not been worn. Refunds of any type require the presentation of a sales receipt.

This is not an irrevocable contract. The College reserves the right to modify these policies and procedures as circumstances make changes necesssary.
